Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Sevogle was erected in 1908 by the well known local builder Thomas Power. The foundation was of local stone from the Hosford Quarry.<br /> <br /> In 1922 a bell from St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank was installed. In 1965 the church, which was formerly facing the south, was turned east facing the highway, and placed on a new foundation.<br /> <br /> Improvements on the building were made over the next years - a new bell in 1965, stained glass windows, a completely finished basement, a hall and a rectory.<br /> <br /> The Sevogle church was part of the St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church until 1946 when it became a separate parish. Today it is once again part of St. Thomas.<br /> <br />
