he Church of the Nazarene began originally in the USA, and is an offshoot of the Pentecostal philosophy and similar to Wesleyan beliefs.<br /> <br /> The Church on the Miramichi began about 1975, and from then to 1992 members met at St. Mary’s Elementary School and at the Anglican Church Hall. .In 1992 the church moved to a home on the corner of Chaplin Island Road and Johnston St., Newcastle. Shortly thereafter, because of diminishing numbers, the Church closed, It reopened about one year later for a short period under the leadership of Rev. Chris Shannon.
