Church history

Paragraph that details some of the information about this church.
In October 1956 three couples began prayer meetings at a home on Francis Street, and in 1957 a Sunday School was formed. In 1957 the original group, now joined by others, called Rev. Robert Wilson as pastor. Rev. Wilson helped the church elect its first deacons; he was also responsible for naming the church Calvary Baptist. As the church grew, it moved to the former Royal Canadian Legion building on King George Highway. Meanwhile, land was purchased on Delano Avenue, Miramichi, and a church was built; it was opened January 12, 1962. By 1979 the church had grown in number, and an extension was added to the building.
